Dr. Jerry H. Withers
Dr. Jerry H. Withers has cared for pets at Eola Point Animal Hospital ever since the hospital opened its doors in 1998. Originally from Dunlap, Dr. Withers attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and received his Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 1987. He continued his education at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. He is particularly interested in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, especially anterior cruciate repairs. Dr. Withers is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association, and the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association. When he's not busy with his duties at the hospital, Dr. Withers can often be found watching Chicago Bears and Illini football games. He also enjoys weightlifting. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Rybicki, and their three children.
Dr. Elizabeth Rybicki
Dr. Elizabeth Rybicki is originally from Oswego and has treated pets as a general practitioner at Eola Point Animal Hospital since 2002. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Dr. Rybicki received her Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 1990 and a Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1992. She continued her veterinary education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. Her professional interests include internal medicine and surgery. Dr. Rybicki is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association, and the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association. At home, Dr. Rybicki and Dr. Withers enjoy the companionship of their four cats, Barbie, Keith, Shadowfax, and Mimi as well as their Irish Setter Schuyler. In her spare time, Dr. Rybicki enjoys going to plays and movies, traveling, reading, and playing games with her children.
Ashley began her career in the animal care field in 2001 and joined the Eola Point Animal Hospital staff in August of 2009. She has a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Benedictine University and fulfills a number of roles here such as handling the various pets that come to us, helping with X-rays, and various office duties. She enjoys working with animals each and every day as well as being in an environment where she is constantly learning. Outside of the clinic Ashley enjoys being with family and friends, watching movies, going to the theater, enjoying the outdoors, baking and volleyball.
Joslyn has been an assistant at Eola Point Animal Hospital since 2006. She loves working with the caring staff and veterinarians and enjoys the opportunities for continuing education at the hospital. She has many outside interests, including roller derby, reading, crocheting, and spending time outdoors with her family. When she's not at work, she can often be found chasing around her two daughters & other members of her zoo! She shares her home with 2 cats named Prof. Hank McCoy & Vincent Van Meow, an Aussie mix named Jet and Bernard, a free-roaming English Lop rabbit who thinks he's a dog.
We welcomed Kelsey to the team in February 2018. Kelsey has always loved animals and splits her time between EPAH and a local animal shelter. After earning a bachelors in art from Millikin University, Kelsey returned to the area and will soon be pursuing her veterinary technician certification. Kelsey is enthusiastic about her current path at Eola Point and enjoys learning something new each day! Playing video games, drawing, photography, and volleyball are just a few of her favorite activities outside of work. Kelsey has a unique little kitty named Sage.
Hailey’s background is in shelter/rehab care. She has worked at numerous facilities, most recently being at the Fundacion Benjamin Mehnert in Seville, Spain, where she also adopted her Galgo Español named Krabi. Hailey joined our team July 2018 after obtaining 2 bachelor's degrees (Spanish & Animal Science) from Southern Illinois University and studying abroad in Argentina. Currently, Hailey is at University of Illinois' Vet Med school and hopes to focus on either radiology or internal medicine. In her free time, Hailey enjoys running with Krabi, photography, drawing and painting, video games and of course traveling! Hailey also lives with a sweet pair of labs named Blizzard and Bailey.
Marissa LVet Assistant
In 2019, Marissa obtained her bachelor's in Science at Illinois State University, returned to the Chicagoland area and joined our family! She loves that we're able to take time to get to know our patients and clients. With an extensive background in shelter volunteering and fostering, She hopes to one day have her own rescue or doggy daycare, because as long as she's surrounded by animals, she's happy. When at home, Marissa enjoys walks with her dog Blaze and spending time with family and friends. Marissa also shares her home with a red point Siamese named Tyler.
Valery VVet Assistant
Prior to joining us in the fall of 2019, Valery was an associate at a local pet hotel. Currently, Valery is a pre-vet student at Benedictine University and hopes to pursue her veterinary dream at either Cornell or the University of Wisconsin. In her downtime, Valery enjoys running and spending time with her friends and family. While in the past Valery has owned dogs, turtles, a guinea pig, and a bearded dragon, her menagerie is currently low so she can focus on her studies. She gets her cuddle fill here thanks to all our sweet patients!
Olivia was welcomed aboard January 2020 as our first receptionist! Olivia is in her 3rd year at Aurora University and is double majoring in psychology and criminal justice. She has always had a passion for caring for animals and volunteered at the Naperville Area Humane Society for a number of years. Olivia aspires to continue helping those who do not have the resources or ability to do so themselves be it human or pet!
When she’s not being a rockstar on the phones at EPAH, Olivia enjoys painting, drawing, and nature. She’s a big fan of forest preserves and national parks. Charlie the goldendoodle is her current companion at home. He is 7 years young and loves his daily walks
Favorite part of working at EPAH: I love meeting new pets and learning about them and their quirks. Each pet has their own story and I am grateful that I get to be apart of it!
